In the summer of 2009 I was commissioned by Badcocks gallery to develop and exhibit a collection of work drawn from the themes of Norwegian painter Kristen Vestgard
Through early 2009 I worked on an MLA commission in conjunction with Leach Potteries developing an exhibition of jewellery as a response to Bernard LeachÌs work
I concentrated on form, with every mould taken from a piece of original studio pottery, mostly broken and dug out of the ground during renovations. As I cast the pieces I included fragments of LeachÌs poetry, ink drawings and etchings.
I was struck by how beautifully suited the curving necks of plates, vases and urns were to curving, worn, around the human form
I 2008 I also gained a place on the ÎMaking it digitalÌ Arts Council/Hidden Art project developing work using new technologies
I worked with ideas of space wreckage and its central yet peripheral relationship with our lives
In the spring of 2008 I was asked to produce a small range of jewellery for the Royal Academy of Arts working in response to the Danish painter Hammershoi
I worked with the brooding colours and recurring motifs of the paintings to produce limited edition necklaces for the RAÌs shop
