A Sterling Silver necklace with engraved Galleon and layered translucent enamel in a hand built silver frame.
The frame measures 1.9 cm by 1.8cm, in a roundish shape and is enameled with a pale sea green and the ship is silhouetted against this. The reverse of the frame is engraved with a small illustration of a jellyfish and the line 'And on the strangest sea' from an Emily Dickinson poem. I have long worked with versions of the ship motif and they represent many things to me.
The chain is narrow but dense and strong. The necklace closes with a bolt ring and has a length of 58cm that is adjustable to 52.5 cm to wear with different necklines.
